Empowerment in the shape of a bar.

After more than two decades of performing on these sculptures, we offer modified reproductions for your garden or home to enjoy the pleasure of physical challenge, creative expression, and scientific curiosity. Each sculpture comes with a performance video and a description of the scientific concept that inspired the piece.

I sculpt as only a choreographer would do. I create forms that move your body in a particular way.

Pollination

Most play equipment is rated for 5-12 year olds, but people in the industry know that the structures are uninteresting to anyone over 10 years old. Our sculptures work for 5-55 year olds. We have tested them through our STEM Portals educational program and Capacitor PlayDates.

A body at work is a sculpture in motion

My kids couldn’t get enough of the fast, smooth, practically frictionless spin that just kept going! “I can’t even move!” they squealed with delight as they experienced centrifugal forces. We go to amusement parks often but the Orb is still the best ride ever!

Science education should be part of our daily lives.

Children can solve creative problems.

When children are offered opportunities for open-ended play versus prescribed task play, they bring their creative selves to the process. They also do not risk public humiliation. When there is no right way to interact with something, they notice immediately and feel much more free to explore.

When science is introduced by parents, children recognize the ideas of science when they arrive in school - it is familiar and comfortable to them. They want to learn about how the world works because their care-givers have already demonstrated this sort of curiosity and approach.
